Fees • First Year in Program: $100 • Subsequent Years: $ 80 • Boot Camp Fees • Boot Camp Fee (Recruits) : $125 • Boot Camp Fee (Instructors): TBD • Campouts: TBD (Usually $15) - we go camping at least twice per year • Special Events • We do several additional events each year. Each event requires a fee that will be determined before the event. • For instance, last year's trip to the USS Lexington in Corpus Christi cost $50.00 per Young Marine. • This summer we have an organized overnight unit trip to the USS Texas in Houston. Cost will be around $50.00 per Young Marine. • Uniforms • The unit provides each Young Marine / Recruit with a camoflague utility uniform (jacket, trousers, and cover (cap)) and a red Young Marines PT shirt • The jacket and trousers are on loan to the unit from the Defense Department and must be returned to CAYM after a Young Marine leaves the program • Parents need to provide white t-shirts, boot socks, a pair of blue jeans (recruits only), and a black leather belt (recruits only) • Parents need to provide a pair of black leather combat boots. • The new black suede boots that do not require polishing are on sale at the Young Marines website (www.youngmarines.com). • After completion of Recruit Training the unit will provide each new Young Marine with a tan USMC web belt and buckle, a set of boot blousers, and all necessary patches and ribbons • Physical Training (PT) Uniform • Black PT shorts • White or solid red t-shirt • Running shoes • Gray sweats, watch cap, and gloves for cold weather • Camping Equipment (we go camping at least twice per year) • Sleeping bag • Lensatic Compass • Flashlight & extra batteries • Whistle • Extra socks • Extra underwear - be sure to bring an extra white T-shirt • Jacket / Field jacket • Sweats • PT gear - Red T-shirt, shorts, and running shoes • Gloves • Toothpaste / toothbrush / toiletries • Necessary paper (toilet paper) • Camelbak / canteens • Chapstik • Sunscreen • Bug repellant |
