" Sitting on my flight home and realizing I haven't really gotten around to thank all the people who's unwavering support has gotten me to this point. And even though this trophy, the Chesty Puller Award, is a tangible display of my efforts so far, it means a lot more to me than a lot will understand. But know that if it wasn't for my amazing family, friends, everyone I've met through Young Marines, Future Jarheads, recruit pool, and in my school life, I would never have become the man I am today. All this reminds me of a golden Malcom X quote "Why am I as I am? To understand that of any person, his whole life, from birth must be reviewed. All of our experiences fuse into our personality. Everything that ever happened to us is an ingredient." You all know who you are, thank you. The journey is just getting started."
